Lessons will be held at my home studio in downtown South Bend.
“I am an absolute beginner. Can I sign up for lessons?”
Yes, students of all experience levels are welcome.
“Do you also teach pop music?”
Yes, I mainly teach Classical piano, but I also play and teach pop music. Please contact me to discuss your interests.
“What is your teaching philosophy?”
I believe that studying music should be a fulfilling and enjoyable endeavor. I think that students will enjoy playing the piano if they are making progress and playing well, so I emphasize proper technique and posture in my teaching. In an effort to train a complete musician, I have students study etudes and other technical studies in addition to their repertoire and I assign music from different stylistic periods.
I also believe studying music requires the input of the teacher and student and an open back and forth about goals, expectations, and progress. My ultimate aim as a teacher is to help my students achieve their goals and I act as teacher, guide, coach, and cheerleader for my students.
